Well skiing today was a bit of an adventure……. We have been sat in cloud for most of the day so it was a trade off – do we go down to the trees where it was damp and the snow was melting onto the gogs, or go higher into a complete white out and wind! We had between 5 and 15cm of snow yesterday but after a Don Maclean night (starry starry night) it started snowing moderately as day broke and has continued since, its now snowing heavily as I keep one eye on the charts and one on Wales/Italy. So there was lots of snow on the pistes which with the lack of visibility made the legs ache. The heavy snow is going to continue until around breakfast time, but the wind is also going to pick up after dark to give the pisteurs a headache in the morning. Expect a slow start to the lift opening and more noise in the form of explosions than this morning. It will then continue to snow throughout tomorrow, the wind may slacken off or it may not depending on whose charts you look at. I’m plumping for windy throughout. The swimming pools will be busy tomorrow! Tuesday looks cloudy throughout with light winds and light snow showers in the afternoon. Wednesday will be similar but it will snow all day. Currently Thursday looks like a day of sunny periods and snow showers, beyond that requires an astrologer!
