British Skier Missing In Tignes

French police are searching for a missing British skier who was last seen getting on a ski lift in Tignes yesterday (Sunday 7th January).

John Promell, aged 39, was caught on security camera getting on the Paquis chairlift at the end of Sunday at 4.30pm. He hasn’t been seen since. He was wearing a colourful hat with a pompom and a checked jacket (see the pic).

Officers are asking anyone who might have seen him to contact the Tignes Gendarmerie on +33 (0) 479063206.

Please share this post to try to find him.

Fears for the missing man have grown due to the amount of snow that’s fallen in Tignes in the last few days. The resort has been placed on lock down at intervals while pisteurs blast areas to make the pistes and resort safe from avalanches. It’s the biggest cumulative snow dump seen in about 20 years.
