Tignes came together to raise hundreds of euros for Edge magazine’s chosen charity this winter, Disability Snowsport UK.
Last night’s charity bring and buy ski sale, held by TDC- the development centre at The Alpaka Lodge in Tignes Le Lac, raised a massive €500 – which will be shared between DSUK and Medecins Sans Frontieres.
Tignes residents showed their huge heart and generosity – Sarah Summers, famed as the first female piste basher mechanic in the Savoie, won the Play Your Cards Right competition but donated half her prize pot to the charities. And popular Underground bar girl Kasia Chomiak donated a very generous prize of a date night with herself – won by a very chuffed Nick Telfer, resident Jam Bar musician.
Edge is supporting DSUK, a charity that trains our Winter Paralympians and changes the lives of people with disabilities by making snowsports accessible to them. Read more about the charity here.
We’re asking all our followers to donate just £1 by text to give DSUK a real boost this winter.
Just text DSUK16 £1 to 70070
There are lots of other ways to support them too, either by volunteering, donating or organising a fundraising event of your own!
Thanks to Tignes Spirit, TCs Bar, SoBar, Tignes Cuisine, Underground Bar, The Marmot Arms and Planks Clothing and Coffee for prize donations including dinner reservations, t-shirts, ski services, a coffee and cake date for two and a bottle of prosecco – what a generous bunch! And here are some pics from the night…
