And for the weather, as its a high pressure scenario, it’s easy. Tomorrow will be the same as today – sunny with mild temperatures for November and a gentle breeze. There may be a bit of high thin cloud on Monday and the breeze may pick up a little. The sun will dominate on Tuesday and it will be a couple of degrees colder. Wednesday and Thursday will be like two peas in a pod, sunny, a few clouds on the high peaks and another degree or two cooler, especially as the lifts open.
The sun came out, the sky was blue, there wasn’t a cloud to spoil the view – the first day of the Main Season for Tignes-Val D’Isere was an absolute corker! The pistes above 2200m are in fantastic condition, as you can see in the picture of Piste Creux.
There were a couple of frustrations this morning though. Firstly there was a massive power failure in Val Claret which delayed the opening of the Grande Motte Sector until 11am. Secondly, the amount of snow over the last 3 days means there is a lot of work still to do today (eg digging out protective cushions and moving them up the pylons to make it safe). However, I am sure the power will be fixed and work on the pistes is ongoing at a pace, and I expect by Monday the vast majority of the two resorts will be open, with the exception of the runs down to Boisses and Les Brevieres in Tignes and the resort runs into Val D’Isere.
