Tignes Val d’Isere Snow Report & Weather Forecast – 22.12.15

Meteo Mike Snow Reports Tignes Val d'IsereBy Meteo Mike

The forecast for the next few days is easy – sun, sun and sun with perhaps a few fluffy clouds on the peaks around Tignes – Val d’Isere. It will gradually cool a little but the freezing level will still be around 2600m over lunchtimes so pretty much as per the last month with those 2 days of light snow as an exception. There is still a chance of fog in the valleys in the mornings over the weekend – but I can’t see a Snowmageddon on transfer day!

However (a word nearly as big as if) I have had a look at the long range Jetstream forecast and there are signs that it is moving south just into the New Year, indeed far enough south by the 2/3rd Jan to give significant snowfall over the Alps! It’s certainly worth getting those snow dance boots out and keeping everything crossed.
