Tignes Val d’Isere Snow Report & Weather Forecast – 05.12.16
It was back in 1932 that Val Rosing, backed by the Henry Hall BBC Dance Orchestra, sang “The Sun has got his hat on…”, but it seems almost that long since we have had a day without sun in Tignes and Val D’Isere! Today, there was a bit of a breeze which meant it was a bit chillier than previous days. But there is still good quality snow around the area above 2000m and still some fresh-tracks off piste around and below the Grande Motte.
The weather forecast is pretty much as yesterday with sun until Saturday and a gradual warming. But there now seems to be a good chance the high pressure will relinquish its grip on the Alps by the weekend, so there may well be a bit of cloud on Saturday afternoon and – FINALLY! – snow showers down to around 1800m on Sunday.
Alpine Experience ski guides are still finding fresh tracks as you can see here:
