The snow abated in the middle of the night, which has probably helped those going down the hill. It started snowing about 11am and there have been some huge gusts which have closed all the top lifts in both resorts. Bizarrely the sun is now out, but there is still a lot of snow blowing round the village.
The snow will return this afternoon and the wind will continue to howl all night – this will continue all the way through tomorrow with snow down to 1500m. There may be a glimpse of the sun as you retire for tea and cakes in the chalet. Monday does not look too bad with sunny periods and a stiff breeze, and Tuesday will see snow in the morning and there is a high probability of strong winds from the Genoa Low from the south-east. It may be an idea to make it a Le Fornet Wednesday as it looks like quite a good day with just a hint of spring in the air. Thursday just looks gloomy. So for those sat in all the queues its going to be a mixed bag next week but there will be some awesome skiing if you time it right.
Travelling tomorrow; in the UK it will be OK for flying – a bit bumpy around London perhaps. It will be rainy over here and bumpy – but nothing to really cause any delays.
