Tignes Val d’Isere Snow Report & Weather Forecast – 20.01.16

Meteo Mike Snow Reports Tignes Val d'IsereBy Meteo Mike

The flocons didn’t last long this morning and there were long sunny periods so we had a cruise down the newly opened Sache piste to Breviere. As we were down early the moguls were only as big as wheelbarrows and not the usual transit vans. There are still patches off nice snow off piste and people still taking immense risks, clearly skiing where ‘our man’ from yesterday’s off piste session had told us to steer well clear of. The pistes over to the Grand Pre are are still in perfect condition – and the microlights were flying for the first time in a fortnight – which must be a good sign!

And now for the good news – tomorrow and Friday will be sunny and much warmer with little wind – Spring has sprung for 2 days! The freezing level will be around 2000m by lunchtime – don’t forget the Factor 30. Saturday will be a mixed bag – perhaps a shower or two in the morning , but mainly sunny periods in the afternoon. Sunday and Monday will remain warm for the time of year and will be mainly sunny with the odd cloud annoying the peaks.

Bon ski!
