Bowling @ Jack’s Club, Tignes

by Emily Harding

If you’re looking for a fun evening filled with a mixture of skill, luck, laughter and Genepi than a night out bowling in Tignes at the alley found in Jack’s club is for you!

Jack’s club can be found next door to the Tignes Espace right on the bus route from Tignes Le Lac towards Tignes Val Claret, a brief walk away from the Palafour lift in the middle of the Le Lac snow square. The whole establishment is a strange combination of bowling alley, games arcade and nightclub, which although bizarre to us english, in no way seems out of place up here in the mountains.

The night club, which is open until 4am is a firm favourite with seasonnaires from all corners of Tignes and is often full with chalet hosts dancing on the pole until the small hours of the morning!

The bowling alley has 10 lanes and always guarantees a fun night out! With 10 lanes, there is plenty of space for large groups to go and let their hair down. It is advised to book in advance as the lanes can get quite full up!

Costing €10 per person per game (or €7 for seasonnaires) the bowling alley is a great place to spend your early evening! The bar there is very reasonably priced with €5 for Magners and €3.50 for a glass of wine, so it’s easy to drink the night away whilst suffering the agony of trying not to get a gutter ball. (N.B – The most fun can be had whilst playing “Bowling Genepi rules” – If you score a zero on any go you are automatically expected to buy your whole team a shot of genepi, every time! Trust us, this is how the night can suddenly get very interesting!)

The bowling alley is open from the early afternoon (it often changes due to the weather) and Jack’s is a great place to while away an evening!
